PRSI Dental Entitlements

If you pay PRSI, you may be entitled to a dental exam, scale, and polish for only €15.

In accordance with The Treatment Benefit Scheme, which Smile Hub Dental Clinic is a registered provider of, PRSI employees are eligible to get a free oral examination once a year in addition to a subsidised scale and polish for €15.

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection oversees the Treatment Benefit Scheme. For insured employees, self-employed individuals, and retired individuals who have made the necessary number of social insurance (PRSI) contributions, it offers dental, optical, and audio services.

You must have made class A, E, P, H, or S social insurance (PRSI) contributions in order to be eligible. Your age determines how much social insurance you require.

Your spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant may still be eligible for Treatment Benefit based on your Social Insurance Record even if they have not made enough Social Insurance Contributions. You must be eligible for Treatment Benefit in order to do this, and your spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant must be reliant on you.

Contact Smile Hub Dental Clinic and find out if you are eligible for treatment. You must supply the following information:

Personal Public Service Number (PPSN)

Date of Birth

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for PRSI dental benefits?

The Treatment Benefit Scheme is open to self-employed individuals, retired individuals, and insured workers who have made the necessary number of social insurance (PRSI) contributions.

You must have made class A, E, P, H, or S contributions to social insurance (PRSI) in order to be eligible. Depending on your age, you may need more or less social insurance.

The Treatment Benefit may still be available to your husband, civil partner, or roommate even if they haven’t made enough social insurance contributions on your behalf. You must be eligible for Treatment Benefit in addition to having a dependent spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant.

Visit www.welfare.ie for additional information or call 074 91 64480 for the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.

How do I check if I am eligible?

If you call the receptionist at Smile Hub Dental Clinic, they will check your eligibility on your behalf. To do so, we’ll need your permission as well as your PPSN and birthdate.

You will be qualified for an Exam, Scale & Polish within the year for just €15 if your claim is “accepted.”

If your claim is “pending,” it could indicate that the site is currently processing a lot of checks or that a welfare administrator needs to confirm your eligibility.

In this scenario, we will be required to collect the entire private fee on the scheduled appointment day. You can still take advantage of an Exam, Scale & Polish for €15 if/when we obtain confirmation of your eligibility. We will repay the extra.

Even if your claim is “not approved,” you can still schedule a private appointment.

I Am Eligible for PRSI Entitlements, What Do I Receive?

For insured employees, independent contractors, and retirees who have made the necessary amount of social insurance (PRSI) contributions, the following dental benefits are available:

  •  a comprehensive oral check-up once a year
  •  a partially subsidised “Protracted Periodontal Treatment”
  •  OR a subsidised scale and polish. This is a thorough cleaning that is frequently done under local anaesthesia when a standard scale and polish wouldn’t be enough to restore ideal gum health.

Those qualified may use these entitlements just once each calendar year. This indicates that you may submit a claim just once between January 1 and December 31 of each year, not once a year.

I Did Not Claim My Previous Years Entitlements, Can I Claim Twice This year?

No, you cannot make a claim twice in a single year. These advantages are only accessible from January through December of each calendar year.

Can My Scale and Polish Contributions Be Used with The Hygienist?

Yes, you can schedule a scale and polish with your hygienist that is subsidised. Please contact Smile Hub Dental Clinic to book an appointment.
